You will be conducting initial psychiatric diagnostic evaluations and final discharge evaluations, meeting weekly with patients for medication management, and engaging in collaborative treatment and discharge planning. You will be a member of an interdisciplinary treatment team, supporting the program’s mission and treatment philosophy.
THE DETAILS:
-Excellent compensation and benefits
-12-15 patients per week, maximum
-W2 employed position
-Monday – Friday work schedule
-Provide evals, diagnoses, treatment and prescribe medication
– Collaborate with psychotherapists around treatment and discharge planning
SKILLS REQUIRED:
-
Knowledge of short term/stabilization mental health treatment
-
Knowledge of acute adolescent and child psychological disorders and relevant pharmacological treatment

Strong clinical assessment skills and strong ability to develop appropriate treatment plans
-
Risk assessment, patient crisis de-escalation and crisis management skills
-
Ability to develop therapeutic relationships quickly and effectively with patients and families and engage them in the therapeutic process

Able to provide virtual / telehealth mental health care, as needed

Working knowledge of empirically supported treatments, including DBT, CBT and ACT
QUALIFICATIONS:
-
At least two years of independent PMHNP practice experience with child and adolescent population is required
-
Prior experience with an emphasis in psychiatric or partial hospital program work is preferred
- Maintain required collaborative relationship and complete continuing education or training requirements as mandated by credentialing agencies

PMHNP certification is required
- Will consider physician assistants who have at least 3-5 years of psychiatric experience with adolescents at higher levels of care
- No family nurse practitioners for this position

Active and valid DEA license required

North Carolina State license to practice independently with prescriptive authority is required
- Exceptional English verbal and written language skills

Demonstrated competency and sensitivity in the area of multi-cultural, racial, religious/spiritual, gender identity, and sexual orientation issues

Competency using EMR systems, Microsoft Outlook, and other electronic platforms

Current active BLS/First Aid certification

Current North Carolina driver’s license is required
