THE OPPORTUNITY: Occupational Medicine Physician

THE LOCATION: Medford, Oregon

Ready for a change?  We have an excellent, full time opportunity available for a BC/BE physician or resident (occupational medicine, family medicine, urgent care or emergency medicine) to join our team in Medford, Oregon.  This is a 100% outpatient position with no call.  You will be responsible for treating and managing worker’s compensation claims, working as a point of reference and providing guidance and information to employees, employers and insurance carriers, as well as  managing patients for the duration of their worker’s comp claim. In addition, you will perform Department of Transportation physicals in accordance with federal guidelines and regulations as well as perform physicals for non-DOT related needs.  You will also act as a liaison for the community, supporting and advocating for the importance of safe practices and healthy choices in the workplace.  In addition, you will serve as Medical Review Officer for the clinic’s drug screening program and will work with occupational health clinics in Medford and Grants Pass, Oregon.

QUALIFICATIONS

Graduate of an accredited medical school

-BC/BE in occupational medicine, family medicine, urgent care or emergency medicine

-MD or DO licensed (or eligible) by the Oregon Board of Medical Examiners

-Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certified from American Heart Association

-Medical Review Officer (MRO) certification preferred

-The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of treating Worker’s Compensation claims and a strong ability to balance the needs of the patients, the employers and the insurance carriers

-Must obtain and maintain medical staff membership and appropriate privileges

-Eligible as a provider for Medicare, Medicaid and other federal health programs

-Must meet all qualifications to participate in hospital programs for professional malpractice and other liability coverage
